My Medical Check up Adventures :D

wee! i left my house with a heavy heart today, dreading the moment to come all the way until when we cab over from tiong bahru.
Meet Aaron at 6.15 + and took 180 down to lakeside.
switched to MRT and took to tiong bahru.
we sorta grab our breakfast @ MAC.

1st obstacle: i just realise that i didn't drink much water.

i really wanted to drink water becos i thought they would be looking at our urine D:
went to grab a bottle of mineral water and gulp half bottle down.

we're like counting down in the cab, and it's a pretty strict environment at first, the guards speak with a firm voice, and we're told to show our ID, and put our handphones at the locker. It's a killer for teenagers like us, handphones are usually gadgets of ease, and ... uh well!

but overall, the whole journey begins right after we opened the CMPB door and well it's really not that bad that i'd expected!
we're given a pink form, and a paper, which records our journey throughout numerous stations, with the paper, we would be given a file after that, of cos it contains file of our reports and it was to be place at the final "check point". ratings of each stage would be given and it would be on a scale of 5!
here we go~

excited we head over to the first room..

- PHOTO TAKING

it's okay. but it's a real appetizer for us! we saw people from numerous backgrounds, malays, chinese, indians. Some came together with friends, and others came alone, actually there're afew lone ranger who looked rather strong D:
some actually came over with unkept hair, and water and combs was provided! we're given shirts to wear, and this mark the ID photo of our cards which would be given to us during our course of national service!

the guy's not really too mean, and everything went pass before i knew it :D

- URINE TEST

after that, we're more to dealing with getting our hair back in place, with others just walking off. didn't talk much to the others then, but well! here's the ice breaker :D
we then proceed to station 1, which bought us to the urine test! each of us are given a cup and a strap of paper, we're to follow instructions given in the toilet (total of 8).
basically what we have to do is to Pee in the cup, dip the strap in, throw away the cup, show the officer the strap, and we're good to go! Urine grade are given too ^_^

OH fuck, this was fun. it's pretty awkward and they locked up the cubicles! we look at each others and actually the lone rangers jsut did it first!
tips & tricks dont put ur penis into the cup and pee. Don't pee with full force. i did and almost overflow the cup :( it went on filling up like super fast and i sorta screamed in the toilet T_T
but actually the worst injury u could get is peeing on ur hand.
don't drink too much water, my pee just came out like a high tide and got me off guard

- BLOOD SAMPLE EXTRACTION

After the urine test, we further proceed to a room to take blood sample :D
lets cast away the many myths of those inexperience officer, or some who kept poking u but can't find the veins. Despite their, "not-so-formal" appearance, i think they're rather pro! i got mine in 1 shot and, well the pain is there, but it's bearable. Actually i'm only afraid of this! But alas! it all went off in a whim, and the officers are rather friendly ^_^

- HEARING TEST

i'm being ushered into the hearing station next.
the next few stations are pretty simple. easy instructions, simple to follow!

- VISION TEST

a simple vision test after that! same as any spec shops =D just cover your eyes and read some text!

- XRAY

weet and next we're off to xray!
now this one is tricky!
after all this, they said got out and get the file, u might think it is out of the x ray room =/
but it's another room out, out of the whole station room.

- DENTAL

now this one is really simple too.
didn't even took 5 minutes. but just rmb to brush your teeth regularly! XD

- ECG (Electrocardiography Test)

after all this, consist of several complex steps already :D
but no worries! there're more than enough officers to guide you,
we kinda have to get naked for this one

- HT/WT & BLOOD PRESSURE TEST

and after that, step up to the machines and let them do the job :d
i'd reckon things would go through pretty smooth for this one.

- SEE DOCTOR

well, nth much, but the waiting time is alittle, teeny weeny long. but actually it's kinda reasonable.
i know you're impatient to let the doctor glance at ur naked body (:

now, think really hard for this one and do it seriously ~

- MAPAS (COM TEST)

woo! lastly is the MAPAS test!
god i love this test! i'm a lover of quizes but, am lazy to do/find them to do at home, but i really like this one :D
questions are separated into several cat, and u are able to take a break after each cat.

u must really experience this for yourself =D
just be really careful, because, i just realize some of them have no backing options T_T

- CONCLUSION

i pretty much enjoyed my overall procedures. just really shock to find my body's in good condition. Before my check up, i prayed to Buddha to "takecare" of me, and place me somewhere safe and well of cos beneficial to the society, but not vulnerable.

but anyways, it's really much better than what i'd expected. you would feel like a greenhorn but they really got lots of nice people there to help.
so c'mon, it's time to grow from boys to men=D
